June Scrapbuster class
Our June class is all about the Log Cabin, strips, fussy cutting and an easy technique I call "sew around." In addition to the information I mentioned during the class, I wanted to add a few notes so every one can make the most of their class time.
Besides basic sewing supplies and tools including a rotary cutter and a ruler with
markings for cutting 1 1/2 to 2/12 inch strips and to use when squaring your block, you will need some fabrics for your blocks. The Log Cabin is a design that relies heavily on contras,t so raid your stash to find 8-10 each of light and dark fabrics. Colors may be a group that blends well or can be scrappy.
For the center square a traditional red or yellow solid or print can be used, or any
color that stands out with the rest of your chosen fabrics. A "fussy cut" square is also
a great focal point as a center square if you have something in your stash you would like to use.
Can't wait to see you for some fun in June!
