Cookie Exchange

As we celebrate Christmas in July - It just couldn't be Christmas without "Cookies".  My Grandparents would would plan weeks in advance before Christmas and would take a couple days and make a variety of cookies.  In a child's mind and memory, it just seemed like hundreds of cookies of all different kinds...Cookies in shapes with icing or colored sugar crystals, peanut butter kisses, thumbprints with jam, bourbon balls (not my favorite as a child but they grow on you), fruit cake cookies, ginger cookies, .... Oh my, I could go in a sugar coma just thinking about it.  Somewhere along the line someone developed a "Cookie Exchange".  I tried to "Google" the event to find out information but it appears there is no particular date that this event in our history began. Cookies have been a prime food at main event celebrations around the world as early as the 1500's.  However it started, who doesn't love a good cookie - Really?

MODA fabrics have designed a Cookie Exchange fabric line with Cookie Recipes, which goes perfect with a great apron recipe.  We hope you will join us for a night out This Thursday 5:30 - 7:30 pm, gather with new friends or old and share some great cookie recipes, eat some cookies and treats, while getting a head start on the baking season by making this fun apron. There is still a few open spots in this class. Class is just $35 and includes materials for the making of your own cookie apron.  Sign up today to reserve your kit.

We have added a Saturday Quilt As You Go Table Runner class which is August 6. We are using the Beaded Curtain Pattern and have kits available for Christmas or Fall.  If you want to use your own fabrics or have another colorway you want us to put together for you - just let us know and we will get you the appropriate information.

Need help on a project, need extra space or larger cutting mat to work on your quilt?  Come join us for Open Sew on Tuesday 26th - all day, come at a time that's convenient for you between 10a and 5pm.  We have the knowledge to help you with your challenging projects.
