First Newsletter of the New Year! I hope everyone had a wonderful and safe New Year! I want to thank everyone who shared in the 12 days of Christmas with us and I have enjoyed seeing some of your blocks that you completed. I look forward to seeing your finished projects -Please share pictures and comments on our Facebook site which you can get to by going to our website or by searching for City's Edge Stuido on facebook.

Thank you for your patience while we were closed for inventory and the Holidays. The good part is this gave us time to re-evaluate some of our current classes and get our own creative juices going. Nancy and I have come up with some fun things planned for this year. We are putting together our class and events schedule which is changing rapidly so please take a look on our website often which you can get to quickly by clicking on the link at the bottom of this newsletter.  You won't see all of this on-line yet but here are a few things we have planned for this year.  Some of the bigger events will include In-Store Retreats and Girls Nite Out events, First Saturday - Show and Tell,  Bus Trip to Kansas City Regional Quit Festival, New Block of the Months, Pre-cut Quilt Kits and HST Fun! (Half Square Triangle Fun). This is just a few of the exciting changes we have coming this year - Keep a look out! Things are changing rapidly!

Note: We are no longer offering Open Sew Tuesdays and Saturdays each month. We will continue to offer assistance as needed and if class room is not being used you are still welcome to use our space. We found that one on one assistance was more needed at a time frame that better suited our customers and this also opens our classroom for other events.

As we are expecting some bad weather - I wanted to share that we will cancel classes if the Benton County Schools are closed. We will try and contact participants ahead of time but just in case we don't reach you.

Rotary Cutting Basics and Beginner Piecing Basics:  This past couple of years I have had students join my beginner quilting classes for reasons such as wanting to know how to properly rotary cut and care for their mats, come to class with tools that just weren't right for the job, or felt a little overwhelmed with the larger quilt all at once. We have come up with 2 new classes to help students get what they need without having to take a month long class.  We are very excited to offer these 2 new classes and tools to help every quilter be successful.

Block Party has moved to the 2nd Friday of the month. We will continue the format of a one day project one month and working on a quilt over the two months. You can join just one class or join the club at any time.
January 13, 9a-3pm: We are making a Jelly Roll Tote.

Kim Diehl's Club has changed for this year. Her club is now annual and runs 10 months with 8 small projects. We will offer whole club membership/discounts or you can join just one class and purchase individual project kits.  It will be using her new fabric line "Katie's Cupboard". This program starts in March and there will be more details to come.

BOM:  Journey's End by Kim Diehl. You can join this at any time for now. We have our first block shipping this month.  You can also purchase the whole project at once if you just cannot wait!

PRE-CUT BOM Demo Event:
Wednesday Jan 18, 10am and Saturday Jan 28, 10am. We will be demonstrating several ways to consider setting your blocks. I have seen several interesting block settings from customers so will ask that if you have started or finished your quilts and would be willing to share - please bring your projects or settings that you plan to use to share with the group.

Coming Soon! Fancy Forest by Elizabeth Hartman.
Her woodland critters are so cute and they are "pieced"!  With this BOM you will receive the pattern and starter kit and then you will receive a Fat Quarter Bundle monthly for the different colorways to complete each set of woodland creatures and finally the border kit.
